I’ve actually heard this from the schizophrenic trans women I know. Most of them say their symptoms for better after starting HRT
i wonder if testosterone will help with sz in men
This has been a potential treatment for a long time, it’s just that someone now bothered to research it. Females have better prognosis and pretty much the most commonly named potential explanation is sex hormones including estrogen. Old news, but good news that they’ve decided to look into it.
Neat. I started taking a birth control pill with estrogen when I was around 17 and honestly I cant say I noticed any kind of improvement or change in my symptoms.
The neurosteroid hormone Pregnenolone has been very helpful for my negative symptoms, better working memory and less fatigue. It is the mother of all hormones so maybe it is turning into estrogen to help me. I don’t know if it is safe to supplement with Estrogen for a male.
i read a case study that was done in india and it said that women fair better than men at being married and that most men if they are diagnosed before age 25 dont marry in their life… maybe females have it easier on the biological level because of their chemistry
I think what adds weight to this is that female psychosis/schizophrenia can worsen when woman are post menopausal.
One barrier to using it in men might be side effects. Although it might be because of use in trans women there are already good guidelines regarding that.
