Fear is part of being human

Everyone has an amygdala, the fear part of your brain, it keeps us safe from perceived threats. Being courageous is feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

I personally believe I have some sort of overactive amygdala because the amount of fear I feel is absolutely ridiculously high.

I am afraid every day

Meditation has been shown to shrink the size of the amydala , thus lowering the level of fear and anxiety

Wonderful information @DNAsaur !

Thank you for sharing .

Good medication can help too .:joy::zany_face::slightly_smiling_face:

As can having a calm and caring person hold your hand and give you support and kindness and care and talk reassuringly to you .

Everyone should have these aids .

When people get assisted dying they are given first sedative then sleep medicine to put to sleep and then lethal injection.three shots to make as gentle and comfortable as possible.

When my horse I had was put to sleep she was given two injections.
One sedation that she stood sedated for five minutes before getting the lethal one .
I kept saying I love you I love you I love you so much .

I remember going up a tall crane in my early twenties, wanting to bungee jump. The supervisor had told me it would be easy but I just couldn’t find it in me. I stared down into the void and my whole body froze. People below looked like ants, the gentle breeze ruffling my hair, the scent of the nearby sea… and I thought “not a good day to die” lol.

You’re welcome @Truemist8. Having someone to talk to is really helpful
