I dont know much about nu metal to be honest i agree it is a matter of preference.

I like core genres (metalcore, deathcore, post hardcore, melodic hardcore) but metalcore is definitely my favorite genre overall

Classic rock. There was a lot of music in the 1980’s that was called “new wave” or other weird genres that I liked, a lot of great pop songs but I still like my Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Bruce Springsteen from the seventies.

I like various genres of metal, just don’t care for super-heavy stuff like death metal or black metal. There was a melodic death metal band I liked, out of Italy, though their lyrics were in English. They were called Ready Set Fall, split up a few years ago.
Anyway, the two genres I listen to the most are alternative metal and nu metal. ■■■■, my favorite band (Mushroomhead) is alternative metal, and my second favorite (Infected Rain) is nu metal.
