Extremities falling asleep and tingling

Early sign of diabetes?

Probably, but it could also be caused by a pinched nerve in your spine. I have a herniated disc in my neck and if I move my head a certain way, one of my arms will go numb and get “pins and needle” feeling in it. It’s very unpleasant.

I have awoken several times with a totally numb right arm, and I thought, and the hospital thought, that I was having Transient Ischemic Attacks. However, the hospital ran all of the tests and scans, and there was no sign of a blood clot or bleeding on the brain.

I have an appointment with a neurologist soon, and I’m going to ask him about a possible pinched nerve in the spine and/or herniated disk in the neck.

Thank you so much.
