And flew to Brussels and from there I continued to Helsinki. I am still on that journey and writing here on the forum. When I left Miami, I never knew what I might find in the future. Well, here I am riding my bicycle and waiting for next summer.
How did you do that? did you just left Miami? I am wanting to do something similar: moving to a new country but don’t know how…
After I had lived in my auto in Miami over two years, I just thought it was my time to make a move and so I just shipped my car to Belgium and just flew to Brussels. I just left Miami. Just like that. I do have good memories from my Miami living.
Are you homeless now? how did you get by?
I am ok now. I did have also an address in Miami.
Around this time in 1998 i left Europe for Australia. I have the Australian and German citizenship. It was a roller-coaster ride but i am settled these days. I came here with a suitcase full of hopes and dreams. Its not a success story where i made i dream career, but i live. I can speak, read and write two languages these days and got lots of insight.
@anon53623539 I can understand you. I moved from Europe to America long time ago. It was easy for me to make a decision to move back to Europe from Miami.
I am going to do something similar, but don’t know how yet without becoming homeless… it is freighting and don’t know where to start. Any tips?
Where do you want to move?
I haven’t picked a location yet, but somewhere warm as I don’t like cold weather anymore.
If you are in the US, you can move to Miami. You may even learn some Spanish there.
I suggest Singapore. Its always tshirtweather there.
Not in the US currently, but love going to Miami. Also thought about the Bahamas.
We just missed each other. 20 years ago I had just arrived in the States in New Olreans. Start of a 2 year stay!
What about Hawai’i? Great weather there.
I drove from fort Myers area to Miami once and we ate at a nice restaurant in Miami and stayed in a hotel and me and my mom got in a huge fight while drunk. Swear never drink again like that. I was 19 and it was one of the all time highs in my life just weeks before psychosis really started for me
I remember the bartender said “he’s so cute but he’s so innocent. 19. Give him another drink. As long as you’re 18 you can drink”. And my mom didn’t care either
