Is it safe to take Unisom (doxylamine succinate) while on Clozapine and Abilify? I want to try it as a sleep aid but I’m not sure if it’s safe to take while also on those medications

Probably best to call a pharmacy or doctor to ask. I hope you find something that gets you some sleep.

I take Doxylamine almost every night. I’m on Olanzapine and Lurasidone. I know that doesn’t answer your question but I’ve also mixed it with lorazepam and trazodone and clonazepam. I’ve never had a problem.
Doxylamine is a first generation antihistamine for allergies. There are plenty of schizophrenics with allergies who take antihistamines. It’s probably safe. Either ask your pharmacists/doctor or start with a small dose 1/2 or 1/4 pill and see what happens.

For the record I’ve had that site tell me interactions where “severe” but I was fine when mixing them so take it with a grain of salt.

It could cause excessive drowsiness when combined with those, but if the other meds aren’t making you drowsy it’s probably fine.

Cool site, I plugged in all my meds. They all came up “Monitor closely” but no serious interactions or contraindications which is good. I’ve been on all these meds for a long time and I am doing fine.
