A few days ago I began clozapine therapy. The dose has been going up since starting it and it’s beginning to work its magic at a low level. I expect it to only get better as the dose rises. The clozapine is now the only psych med I take. I was on an antidepressant, but I’m off of that now too. I have no side effects yet. No constipation, no overpowering sedation, nothing. It helps me sleep at night, but it’s gentle. It doesn’t hit me like a sledgehammer, and I get up at a very reasonable hour - around 7 am. This medication was the last straw way too late - I wish I’d started it long ago. The only AP I hadn’t been on is Orap, and not many people have ever even heard of Orap. They say that it works when nothing else does. This is true in my case. Lovin’ it!

i hope it continues to work for you
My pdoc also likes Clozapine. She suggested it to me a while back but I didn"t want it because of all the blood tests. She says it is the med that probably works best for treatment of sz. I’m currently on Abilify. I never heard of Orap.

It’s sounds like you are doing well. Congratulations!
Ever since I was forced to go cold turkey from Geodon for two weeks it’s like my brain is immune to side effects and withdrawal - or my self awareness was damaged where I don’t notice it anymore.
