Does sun fade a tattoo?

thinking of getting a tattoo on my arm, but i also like to get sun in the summer, worried it might fade my tattoo if i get one. i would like an arm sleeve but only have 1 idea for a tattoo right now.

Time and sun fade tattoos, you can always get a touch up of your piece with fresh ink down the line.

That’s so cool you’re thinking about getting a sleeve. I am too. Let me know if you come up with any ideas. You made my day! :sunglasses:

You could always put some sunscreen lotion on your tattoo.
I used to wear sunscreen on my tattoos but I’m hardly ever in the direct sunlight anymore so I don’t need sunscreen anymore.

Direct sunlight will fade tattoos over time.
Long sleeve shirts are your friends.

You can just do like everybody else that has a tattoo, say you regret getting in the first place but regularly go back to get it touched up cause you cant see it anymore.

The first 4 months you have a tattoo, you could ruin it by letting it get sun. If you want to get a tattoo, get it in fall so you have all winter to cover it up.

Not everyone regrets tattoos. And gcar sounds awesome. Nothing is permanent, our bodies are temporary. Might as well get a tattoo if you really want one.

actually i have two tattoo ideas now. i want an arm sleeve on my left arm, and then i have another tattoo in mind for my right arm. i was planning on waiting until i get in better shape to get some ink.

Mine faded a bit, because I go in the hot tub a lot and the sunscreen washes off in there.
