Does prolactin make your penis shrink?

I am certain that my ■■■■■ has shrunk since I have been on APs. Have any other guys experienced this?

Higher prolactin levels in guys can cause low libido - Erectile Dysfunction - low testosterone levels - etc…
ED is a definite symptom so it may seem like their is ‘shrinkage’ going on, as you mention - but high prolactin levels have made me ‘lactate’ like a pregnant woman, so who knows at this point, you could be right.
I cannot wait to get off of this poison

jimbob if you are impotent the shrunk look is probably the meds. I would tell your pdoc about it. I was impotent on risperdal. ruined my life.

The meds increase prolactin which contributes to ED. they also cause diabetes which can also effect blood flow to the ■■■■■. I mean I don’t have s partner who would notice but it still effects my self esteem.

I really should not call Risperdal poison - it kept me stable for 4 years or so, it was a great drug for my moods and mind - a lot of people have benefited from taking it .
As far as I am concerned, it is one of the more effective atypicals.
Now I have to start again and hopefully I will find another med that will keep me going

Uh. Huh. Well, I was a quarter inch bigger before antipsychotics. The thing is, it didn’t matter until I had been on antipsychotics for half a year. Seriously, I used to have a slightly bigger sword than before I got on meds. I dunno. It’s like 100% is not 100% anymore. But just by a little bit- I don’t have ED on my meds right now, and if I…uh…dont release sailors everywhere for a few days, I don’t take forever to reach orgasm, but gone are the days of having an orgasm every night. I cut way back on that whole thing, only three times a week, whether it’s by myself or with someone else. I did manage three times within 48 hours with someone, but I had…uh…not chocked any chickens for like a week before that weekend.

Yes, people with schizophrenia have orgasms and 60% of us are sexually active at least once every 6 months; I wrote a paper and cited that statistic from a book, a book called “Surviving Schizophrenia” which everyone on here should read. It’s a bit pessimistic, written by an M.D. who has seen too many people in psych wards and not enough people with schizophrenia having normal lives- part of the reason I want to get a Ph.D. within a decade- I want to clarify the illness from a highly functioning point of view. I mean I have it and I have a normal life, one would even call me a “type A” or “over-achiever” or if they have seen me powerlift or fight, “superhuman”.

Mouse has spoken about meds and sexual dysfunction. LOL

But really, if I did it the day before, I take like an hour to reach orgasm the next day- I have relatively low testosterone for someone my age and…uh…musculature. You would think I am testy- nope, I’m in the lower 30% of testosterone levels, my docs had it checked when I showed my therapist a video of me lifting five hundred pounds six times. LOL

Mouse runs on fire and caffeine, a lot of nicotine. Wait, that’s Corey Taylor’s line.

Talk show with Mouse, Bill Maher and Pope Francis. Topics range from the concept of evil to whether eating honey nut shredded wheat is truly metal, or if just normal shredded wheat with no added sugar is truly metal and honey nut shredded wheat is not truly metal.

Ok, I’ll stop.

I think my ■■■■■ when erected had shrunk a little,it’s due to the medication…I am still single, only been in a non sexual relationship with a girl for 3 months…I would try to fix the problem again if I get into a relationship, now I masturbate and had no pressure to fix my ED
I never had a sexual relationship with a person before but I hope my first sexual relationship would be good

I know this may be an important matter and I should not laugh aloud LOL, but I have not take any time to measure my ■■■■■, I know I should not laugh, but viagra has been invented.

Yes it does cause the ■■■■■ to shrink, not only that it causes your desire for sex to diminish and in some cases it causes men or women to lactate (milk come from the nipples). This is well documented and varies in severity from one neuroleptic to another, and also depends on the person’s only biological chemistry which varies between people. It is an intended effect.

People who suffer from this side-effect might consider talking to their psychiatrists about aripiprazole (Abilify), for it has been shown that it does not increase and even reduces prolactin levels. I switched to it a few months ago and it seems to make a difference. It is always a trade-off with other side-effects though, I experience a somewhat increased anxiety while speaking in public.

I’ve been on risperidone for 10 months now, I notice about 5 months in that I had become impotent, but I didn’t mind because I wasn’t in a relationship and wasn’t in the right mindset to be in one. Now I have recovered The impotency isn’t as bad but I have notice that my ■■■■■ has lost an inch in length and about 2 inches and girth, it’s really quite depressing. I’m wondering if anyone else has expirenced this problem, if there are any forms of treatment, did anyone have any issues getting the doctors to believe them and is there a known reason for why this might have happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other side effects I’ve experienced are Complete lack of energy Weight gain Confusion Muscle spasms Lack of joy, happiness (depression)

No. Decreased sex drive for a while. But no shrinkage. And I’ve measured mine every week since I was 12 years old :joy:

I think mine has too. There is one thing ssri antidepressants can do for you that will make your girlfriend appreciate you. They completely cure premature ejaculation. They make it where it is actually pretty difficult to climax. If you’re not very big, at least you can last a long time. That’s good. I’m sure some of you guys have experienced this.

Where you on risperidone pal? If so what dose and for how long? Many thanks

I was non risperidone briefly. It’s Geodon and Seroquel that have made my ■■■■■ shrink.
