Does praying help?

I find spiritual warfare prayers and praying for healing helps. Do any of you also find a benefit from praying?

I just said almost every single prayer in http://www.catholichealingprayers.com/ and https://www.catholicwarriors.com/pages/warfare_prayers.htm in one sitting.

In short no…

Perhaps there are therapeutic effects.

Take care.

About as good as this…

I think praying helps get your wits back together.

Praying or asking a Higher Power for help or Guidance can help, especially during trying times

I don’t believe that God is going to buy you a mercedez benz like Janis Joplin said…

but I do believe that sacrificing yourself to a higher power can be a good thing. Even when i thought I was jesus I never thought I was “God”…I always thought I was the son and he was the father, and there was a difference.

In AA they teach step 2 or 3 is you’ve turned your will over to a power greater than yourself…which is great because then you lose narcissism and that can only be good. Maybe there is some spiritual affects, but i don’t know I’m not God or Jesus so I couldn’t tell you. But ego-loss has helped enable me to believe in a power greater than myself. And vice-versa would too.

its good to have something to believe in

Hi Daimon,
I think my Mom praying for me helped when I first got sick. I was very religious when I was well and I think it helped me stay that way. When I got sicker I slacked off.
I think believing that God can help is helpful to the long term outlook. I think these days staying in touch is helping me stay better.

To the people that don’t believe in God, you can always use the higher power mentioned in AA.

its a shame bc if you were an atheist who would you pray to

@Dreamscape i’m so over popular psyhology but that book is awesome. But pretty much wisdome is taken from religion @Daimon i pray to keep myself on surface.
