Does haloperidol make one tired? I usually stayed up late at night till 2am these last few months but since I’ve taken haloperidol (around 8pm) I’m tired before 12midnight. I’m not sedated like with quetiapine, just feel tired. The next day I’m tired almost all day. I’m just started taking 3mg last night. Before that I took 1,5mg for a week.
Usually I read a lot at night, but now I can hardly finish a chapter. In day just want to rest. Going out earlier, I felt like I was slightly disconnected like dissociating or dreaming. Felt unsteady.
Does haloperidol do this? At least with me it’s not sedating or cause akathisia. It’s such a relief not to have that! The quetiapine had given bad akathisia.
Still hoping haloperidol will be a good med for me.
Haldol didn’t make me tired but it gave me the worst case of restless leg syndrome, I’d be laying in bed and every 3 seconds I had to kick my legs to get relief, ti was awful and make it hard to fall to sleep… It also made me extremely dizzy. I could sit, lay down, and walk fine, but if I was just standing still, for example in line at the coffee shop, I felt like I was going to topple over, it was an awful feeling. I had to quit haldol, the side effects were too brutal. After I quit the dizziness stuck around for a few months. The restless leg syndrome went away right away.
