Does Floki from Vikings have schizophrenia?

I have watched Vikings religiously now on season 5. Over the seasons Floki is my favourite character that stands out.

At first I thought he was just eccentric but this past episode it’s finely hit me and I’m wondring if Floki actually has some mental health problem himself for his time ?

If anyone else watches the show maybe they can care to share their thoughts on this.

Someone is probably just trying to be difficult.

I like that show, and that’s probably my favorite character from it.

I don’t know if he is supposed to have some form of mental illness, or if he’s just someone that’s applied too much woad and consistently going on a bad trip. But I heard a while back (And I may be wrong) that the ancient nords held the mentally ill in high regard spiritually, seeing them as being closer to the gods. Of course, life outcomes in those ages were terrible in any event, but thought it worth mentioning.

He said he hears the gods sometimes so yes I guess he is if clairaudience is counted as schizophrenic

He does seem like a high functioning schizophrenic.

The Seer, the Oracle of Kattegat, also might be schizophrenic, but his predictions seem to be right everytime.

My favorite character is Hvitserk. For other reasons, lol.

I don’t think he’s schizophrenic. I think his religious beliefs are very rooted to the point he believes he hears from the gods. But that was part of their culture to be like that. Psychotic delusions are having beliefs that don’t make sense within ones own culture. What about the native Americans who believe in animal spirits guiding them? They’re not considered schizophrenic for their beliefs because its part of their cultural norm to believe that.
