Do your family support you when you have schizophrenia?

Initially my dad was in denial and told me I didn’t have it and very firmly believed it since I didn’t “act like someone with schizophrenia”

He supports me through my anxiety but we haven’t spoken about my schizophrenia in a long time

My mom has always supported me. She was shocked at first but did a lot of research so she could fully understand what I’ve been going through.

My mom supports me. My dad doesn’t even know what a psychosis is. And to be honest, if he knew, he would reject me.

Live with my parents.

I’m doing well I’d say, I live with my girlfriend and she supports me quite a bit emotionally

Yes. Both parents and my grandparents support me super well.

I’m very lucky.

I live with my mom. She hasn’t read anything on schizophrenia. She drives me about, sometimes. Sometimes, she does my laundry. Generally, she isn’t a huge emotional support, however. She tends to deal with my more vocal episodes, by sending me out for a walk, so she doesn’t have to hear them.

She also seems, to me, to have developed mental health issues herself, which may have grown worse, with the onset of mine. She used to be a better listener, but, now, she isn’t as good at this. She was kinder, before. She, sometimes, seems like other people, who are not as good, as she can be, and, as she was, in the past.
