I dont think there is any doubt culture affects gender roles….but some of this research appears to go too far. I dont think there is any doubt that Males tend to be more aggressive and females more nurturing.
You dont only see this in humans but pretty much all the animal kingdom. Its not always so, but its a trend that cant be ignored and dismissed as solely cultural. It’s too prevalent in the animal kingdom and not solely a human trait.
Of course humans are different from animals and can learn to behave differently……but like I said, its pretty obvious that the trends towards this in nature are there.
I dont think its a matter of nature vs nurture……its usually both nature and nurture that have an impact.
