I quit smoking 30 years ago. I am 52. I smoked from 13 to 22 and then quit. I smoked 2 packs a day.

I smoke too much, to be honest. When I was working, I smoked only eight cigarettes a day. Now on disability, I’m killing a pack and a half

I can relate. I was extremely resentful for years, I still don’t like it but I’ve come to grips with it. As long as I don’t have to deal with the f****** directly, I’m okay

I’ve smoked about a pack a day since I was 17. I’m 31 turning 32 on the 15th.

That’s awesome, apparently it takes 15 years to achieve the full benefit of quitting. I quit 13 years ago. I smoked for 17 years, from age 13 until I was 30.

My first attempt at quitting was at 20, but it took me multiple attempts over 10 years to quit. I finally did when I was 30, cold turkey.

I quit cold turkey too. I still remember my last cigarette.

I have never inhaled a cigarette. I have drawn a puff into just my mouth a couple times.

I have read that there is a higher percentage of mentally ill people that smoke vs. the general population and this poll shows that to be true. According to Google, 14% of the population smokes cigarettes but this poll (so far) shows 37% of people who responded smoke. That’s significantly higher.

I don’t smoke cigarettes but I used to. I only vape now to get my nicotine.
