We had a lot of discussions about certain topics that made me think of my culture in a different angle. (Today with my guests)
Hope I am not offending anybody.
Dont know ā¦!!!
It depends on what you mean by āmy cultureā. Like most people in the U.S., I am an almagation of several cultures. I suppose that by todayās standards, my culture would be white and middle class. The culture that I feel closest to, that my ancestors brought over here is the Scotch Irish Presbyterian - the Calvinist culture. Calvinism is a pretty grim culture. I wonāt go into it here. The Presbyterians are the single denomination most associated with Calvinism.
It depends on what do you mean by culture. I like my whole family culture, because it values study and knowledge. But if you are asking about Brazilian culture, I would say that it has got its negative sides. I love the way Brazilian family take care of a family member who has schizophrenia, but I donāt like the Brazilian manner of being āespertinhoā or doing things with ājeitinho brasileiro.ā I think Brazilian culture has a lot of unexplored potential.
for me it is like another - as in it is too complicated with extreme ugliness and extreme beauty. It is an extremist culture like my mental illness. My whole trigger of psychosis was some part related to it, which makes me not wanna spread my genes.
It is like my whole life - with my struggles and achievements, is a reflection of it in a way. If that makes sense.
I do not prefer another culture, I do not āloveā my own race nor hate it either.
The various human civilisations were put on this planet in distant geographic locations. There are similarities and there are differences but we share one thing in common and that is we all live on this planet. Globalisation is removing the differences in culture but each race will remain the same.
I would think there would be some amalgamation over timeā¦
I am of the human race and enjoy all cultures.
Gawd made the world round, so that no one is on āTop.ā
Thank Gawd for the differences in culture, because my tastebuds enjoy all the different flavors of meals.
I donāt think I would be happy with belonging to any culture in the world, to be honest. They all seem to have serious flaws. Iām OK with my culture and race, though.
I come from two cultures. The Mexican-American culture of my childhood, and the Anglo-White American culture of my adulthood. I love them both. They are both me. My father was a full blood Mexican immigrant. My mother was a farm girl from Blair, Nebraska.
Iām white as rice and okay with it. I tend to ridicule and then ignore those who tell me to ācheck my privilegeā.
(I checked and itās doing fine, thank you.)
my culture would be that of a Christian culture and i like that but my race or colour does not make me superior, i think we should all treat each other equally and with respect.
I love my culture!! Black is beautiful!
I love my moms culture. I think they are a very beautiful people specifically where my mom was born.
Yes Iāve spoken to people from there who live here (Canada) and they say they have their flaws but its just like any other race.
I donāt mind my ethnicity, but I guess I donāt embrace it as much as my parents would like.
Iām a Canadian-born citizen of Latin American origin (Central American Republic of El Salvador), but I have little or nothing in common with Latin American culture.
I donāt think there are many races. There is only one : human race. But there are a lot of cultures and they have all interesting specificities and itās great to know other cultures! Iām personally a French Canadian.
Thatās like me. I was brought up in a Mexican American culture, the Chicano culture. But, when I grew up, I got away from it and got engulfed in the white Anglo American culture that was all around me. Now, I have nothing in common with the Chicano culture. Itās kinda sad.
Iām from Asian culture but Iām sort of obsessed with american culture⦠american music⦠etc
