I like reading. It’s my number one hobby. I like it because reading makes me connected to the authors and the world as well. By reading I feel refreshed and even inspired .
I like to learn about literature without reading the book itself. Lol. YouTube summaries for the win.
Or read like 10 pages and then never go back to that book for 3 weeks.
I prefer non fiction to fiction. Can’t concentrate on fiction long enough.
I also like to read poetry. I feel music keeps me most in touch with the world. But reading definitely too yes.
It helps me to see where other people have been, because I can then better understand both myself and the world around me.
I was well-read as a child. In high school I read voraciously and always had three or four books going by my bed that I read every night. I pretty much stopped reading soon after I got diagnosed. I miss it.
Growing up I was usually smarter than my friends and I got better grades. I credit that to reading.
I love reading. I’m just picky about what I read. Ya know Civil War books or Sherlock Holmes or Shakespeare or tobacco based books.
I remember being infatuated with RL Stine growing up. I had my closet full of Goosebumps books.
What’s a tobacco based book like
Tobacco blending, musings on pipe smoking, cigar reviews, pipe making books, biographies of famous people in the business.
Thank you for asking. My statement was pretty ambiguous.
I am a history major who has not read a book since graduating in 2013
The ASD Specialist recommended a self-help book for Autism, and I have read two chapters and I find it a bit rubbish and obvious
I feel really lost on the ASD diagnosis as a 33 year old, as it really means nothing. It was just for the vain psychologist who retires in October, so a waste of time.
I am only level one, so I require support, but not substantial
This book is for people at my sort of function level
I will try to read it, but it will take a while
I f’in LOVE reading. I tell my partner: I will never be a “TV schizo.” You know the kind. Reading is the best way for me to entertain myself and learn information.
I used to read a ton. I still enjoy it if I get a book that really grabs my attention. I especially love thrillers. I like how books take me to another world and let me escape for a while.
I love reading it’s benefits for me are giving my mind stimulation and education and entertainment and distraction. When I’m struggling with life it is a comfort zone to open a book. Very soothing.
Yes, I love reading. I feel like it keeps my cognition and problem solving skills sharp.
Currently I’m reading a book about the B movie legend and producer, Roger Corman.
Like @Jonnybegood, I find nonfiction books more fun and easier to read.
LS! I like to read non fiction too. It is a good for my general knowledge. Also reading books makes you live two years longer, probably because it stimulates the nervus vagus. That is if you read at least thirty minutes without a break. Presently I am reading : Helen Rappaport- Conspirator- Lenin in Exile.
I love reading. Prior to a couple of weeks ago I was not able to comprehend because of my voices. Thanks to Rexulti after 46 years I am free. Last week I read three books. All non-fiction. A thousand pages!
I hardly ever finish a book I read from the library…but I enjoy perusing through the unfinished book at the end so I feel like I finish it…
Those who read more are shown to have higher intelligence, higher creativity and be better writers than the average person. They also can help you educate yourself on any topic and give you perspective into the lives of others.
Reading is an awesome hobby. Sadly many people with sz cannot focus enough to read for fun.
I would like to be well read and a writer, but people are always bothering me. I read Les Miserables winter of 2018. I would like to read it again. I rarely read. It’s hard to find the right book.
I don’t have the concentration to read so I listen to audiobooks instead.
I also have an android app that reads PDF files out loud for you.
So sometimes I’ll download an interesting PDF and listen to it.
I’m getting back into it and enjoying reading again. Took me a long time though and a lot of effort. I’ve found regular exercise really helps my motivation and routine helps me read every night. I just finished Fight Club and onto Neuromancer which I’ve never read. Reading improves your vocabularly and helps with speaking for sure.
I like reading posts on this forum sometimes.
