My wife just found a millipede/centipede in the laundry basket in the basement. She was totally freaking out when she found it. I killed it. She said her dad just moves insects outside.
I’m wondering how prevalent a practice this is. Personally, I see no need to chance a bug surviviing to make it upstairs somehow and crawl into my bed. And I sure as heck am not going to go to the trouble of trapping him to transport him outside like some kind of valuable commodity.
If it was an animal, yes, bugs, no.
Anywho, lets have a poll.
What do you do with insects and spiders in your house?
It depends on the bug
Stinkbugs and small spiders I will either let them be or transfer them outside.
Ladybugs I won’t harm.
Insects like bees, wasps and ants get zapped
I will terminate flys too
If it’s a bee, I try to guide it out of the window, if it’s a fly or something I just leave them be. I don’t get a lot of insects into my apartments asides from flies and bees(or could be wasps, I don’t remember the difference), have only seen a couple spiders in 5 years. I don’t wanna kill the little ■■■■■■■■, I just want them out
I don’t kill insects… I thought insects are just like mammals, like a cat or a dog. But it depends…I only kill insects sometimes. Like if there is a spider on my bed …. then I flick it off and hope it dies so it won’t bite me.
Most of the time I leave them be, but I have tactile hallucinations that bugs and spiders are crawling all over me, through my hair and all over my skin.
When I’m having that hallucination I become the terminator to any creepy crawly. Yesterday I killed three spiders because I was hallucinating that there were thousand crawling all over me.
I feel bad, especially killing spiders. I normally love spiders and hope to get a pet tarantula someday.
Now mosquitos and ticks can go directly into the inferno.
Well, millipedes and centipedes are not bugs. They are animals. Part of the arthopod family. I used to have a millipede as a pet. Her name was Shadow. Just FYI.
I sometimes transport bugs outside, if possible. With spiders, I usually kill them because I am very scared of arachnids. Well, kind of. I am scared of small arachnids. Tarantulas are more like fuzzy babies and they don’t scare me as much. I would transport a tarantula far away from my house. I would feel too guilty if I killed them. Same with snakes and such. I have found harmless snakes in my house (besides my pet corn snake) and I just take them back outside. If they were harmful, I’d call animal control to capture them and relocate them.
Is it your friend as an insect or someone bad to and for you ….
Honestly I avoid killing or harming .
I had a x who used glue traps which can cause torture and i really disagreed with him .
If your home is invaded by mice or so there’s a more humane way of removing them that doesn’t cause suffering and fear .
Nicest would be just to carry outside so they
can live in peace just not in your personal space .
I guess your right. I did not think about that before I typed. For the same reason spiders arent considered ‘bugs/insects’, millipedes and centipedes arent either technically. However, they are close enough for me to get rid of ;p. One of the last things I want crawling on me at night.
I actully think millipedes/centipedes crawling on me might creep me out more than spiders.
kill, if we have to pay bills so should they, unwelcome visitors not welcome, imagine if a creepy looking random dude was crawling around in your bed sheets or running on the ceiling, cant sleep till their gone
I have no qualms about killing roaches. They’re dirty and carry diseases and I could kill a million of them and there would still be a 100 trillion of them left on earth running around. No ones going to miss the 50 roaches that I killed at my last place.
