Are you able to keep your house neat and tidy, and are you organized? I’ve never been able to keep myself neat and tidy and due to symptoms I used to struggle with hoarding, and I still kind of do, it’s a hard habit to break. To this day I’m not as organized as I’d like to be, and it makes me really sad when my room is a mess or I’m unable to keep things together.
I think I’m good at cleaning until my partner comes home on a Friday and finds bits
This is my living room. It’s clean but lived in. The rest of the house is about the same. I don’t do all the cleaning myself …my partner helps.
[quote=“toothbox, post:1, topic:208390, full:true”]I am not well enough to clean routinely yet. But eventually I feel I’ll be able to put an hour a day for cleaning, up until it’s satisfactory, then maybe 15 mins a day after that.
No. It is dirty and I don’t care.
Our house is clean enough but it’s a bit cluttered or disorganized.
I keep a pretty clean house.
It gets cluttered with my mother in law’s stuff,
But I try to make it nice.
I usually let the home attendant which is usually a women choose. She picks all the cloths I’m going to wear out today, and all of the arrangements in the house it’s fun.
I tend to be the opposite - I organise things as I hate clutter and hoarding, but keeping it clean is difficult. I hardly ever dust, and sweep only when there’s dust in corner of stairs or when theres seeds and feathers from my budgie all over the floor by his cage. And I clean my kitchen sink probably only once or twice a month and same with bathrooms
Terrible I know!
thats so much better than me, Ive been making lists and setting alarms to make myself better though
My house definitely looks lived in
My house is awful and so depressing.
I’m a bit bad with cleaning lately.
I used to clean once a week.
It’s been a couple months since I cleaned now.
I don’t do the washing up daily anymore.
I washed my sheets last week and still haven’t made my bed.
Thankfully I haven’t seen a cockroach in a while.
Usually there’s heaps.
I have clothes laying around.
I’m a bit of a grub.
So was my x in SA.
We went well together but I cleaned once a week when I lived with him.
We had clothes and things laying around though.
It looked cozy.
My favourite home.
If I could choose any home in the world it would be with my x and dogs in SA.
I used to have someone come in 45mins x2 . My stepdaughter stopped that for a while because of the Covid situation. The woman is coming in again but only 60 mins .
For me it’s very much tied in with executive dysfunction that someone comes in and does it for me. I struggle with multi step tasks, and can get quite overwhelmed. EF has nothing to do with laziness or learned helplessness . It affects those with sz/sz-a ,those with ASD and those with dyspraxia.
I need a army of maids in combat gear to clean my place
I only clean when I get a notice from the landlord of an apartment inspection. My apartment is mostly cluttered. The kitchen is mostly clean.
I’m not very organized, but having an unavoidable routine helps.
I do the dishes immediately after dinner.
In the morning, EVERY morning, I sweep and wash the floors.
Before having any kind of visitor, I wipe every surface and do the floors.
Mondays and fridays, I do laundry.
Wednesdays and sunday, I wash bedlinens, washcloths and dish rags.
Usually my living area is very clean but my actual bedroom is a complete mess. Thats when I had an apartment. Idk why I was so good at keeping everything else clean and not my room.
I’m not consistent. If someone is coming over I’ll clean for four-five hours straight, typically I run the vacuum every other day to every day to keep up with the cat hair. I keep the dishes, the sink and the dishwasher clean but there’s almost always crumbs on the floor at some point. I make my bed when I change the sheets and typically a few days after that. Bathroom gets cleaned once a week and the cat boxes are done every morning.
