I do. Just had mine. I always dread having them, but at least they check my vitals to make sure I’m healthy.
I refused it this year
Seemed like a waste of time
Most people want to live a long life. I want to live it well and not bothered about the duration so much
Well lived life I hope for despite my limitations
I saw with my own eyes how my grandfather fell apart around his pacemaker.
Not for me thank you!
I used to get yearly blood tests but when the pandemic hit, I didn’t get any.
I might get mine done in the new year.
It used to be every 6 months but my new Dr do them once a year. Though I will soon be on Clozapine and will need to do blood tests every week for 6 months. It will get me out of the house regularly at least.
It’s important to monitor your blood sugar levels, a lot of the meds on the market seem to contribute to diabetes. My second to last bloodwork showed me as pre-diabetic, but my most recent one said I’m in the clear. I’m still gonna keep an eye on it, I drink too many sodas.
i am a year late on my smear test and couple months late for ap blood test, am curious about my prolactin levels
I am in England
They booked me for an annual check, and I phoned and cancelled it
It was primary care not mental health services
Before the pandemic MH used to do physical checks
If they want to force my hand get the courts involved I think
Yea man, if you don’t want a blood test, it should be up to you.
I gave up worrying about this as apparently the risk of changing meds going badly is worse than my prolactin levels
Mine was as high as a pregnant woman in her third trimester last few times it was done
For the last 17 years I was suppose to have them every 3 months, but I usually only did it once or twice a year. My old doctor wanted 12 hour fasting blood tests and I had to be at his office at 8am in the morning. That proved hard because I was on 40mg of Olanzapine and it made me sleep, so getting up at 7am was next to impossible, so I skipped out on regular blood tests.
I’m no longer on Olanzapine and my new doctor said it doesn’t have to be fasting so that has made things easier. The last couple years I have done it every 3-4 months but my results have been stable and good that whole time so my doctor now says they only need to be done once every 6 months.
I get them every so often, I think it’s been about 9 months. I’m about to go to the doctor and she said she would order them then.
I get them once a month.

Sometimes they can’t find my vein, and I’m like…
I get my blood drawn at least once a month. That’s because I have so many health problems. Different doctors do blood tests for different things, but it’s a blood test at least every month.
do you know how it works, and trust them?
they always tell me after yearly, or sooner,
everything is fine. What do you mean by everything?
i seem to get mine done every couple years. i resist my pdoc calls for more blood tests until i relent. i am actually going in next week for a blood test, my pdoc wants to know my prolactin and testosterone levels. they said it has to be in the afternoon or 6 hours after waking up, im not sure if its fasting or not. i also have high cholesterol so my nurse practitioner wants to monitor that as well, i think from now on, she wants me to have blood work every 6 months.
I get yearly blood and EKG
@Ninjastar that is what they request at my GP too in the UK, although it is every 6 months instead, and it is due to being on an ap
I was given a requisition to get my blood tested last month, which would be six months since the last time. I didn’t go, partly because I don’t care.
