I hope he doesn’t ask what they’re saying.
Oh yeah I get sensory overload a lot. sounds , colors, movement. it usually magnifies sound or it sounds like i hear every sound at the same time.
if i go downtown i will sometimes wear earplugs.
Every time I go to a grocery store.
You can see me standing in one area- like cerial- for hours.
Too gosh darn many choices…
@anon31257746 I never thought about wearing earplugs. For me all sounds start kinda running together and everything feels fast and out of control and the noise is just too much. I don’t want to have to ask my mom to buy me earplugs though so maybe I won’t wear them.
@Csummers I’m sorry, that must make grocery shopping kind of an ordeal. It happens to me most often in the store or when my mom and grandpa are talking. I guess it’s somthing about their voices that just make me want to rip my ears off.
Not really on medication no. Off medication yes…it is like I’m a raw nerve. Loud noises, lots of bright lights, touch, all of it is just extremely overwhelming. Cities are miserable for me. On meds I don’t really get the sensory sensitivity.
Well, I still hate being touched. But that’s for other reasons.
