Yup totally, not all day of everyday but at least some of everyday its distressing. Either telling me its gonna make me fall down and hit my head or crash while driving. It sucks

In the US you can drive with SZ. Problem with the US is everything revolves around driving so if you can’t drive you’re stuck at home or walk 10 miles to buy a coke.

Yea that’s great, shame the uk doesn’t allow it.
All the doctor had to do was sign an agreement for me to drive, but he had non of it. He’s a great doctor, and I agree I could’ve had a panic attack in the middle of driving on the highway, so I kinda agree with him.
I’m not bothered now, I’m used to not having a car.
Edit- I forgot to add that I no longer get panic attacks, very rarely.
I have a valid driver’s license. I do not have a car anymore and so I rarely drive.

I’d love to know how other people with schizophrenia in the UK get a driving licence cos I don’t have any luck. I’m wondering whether I should take them to court for discrimination. ? I’ve been having problems for years getting one.

I’ve been driving for about 15 years. I learnt while I was living in supported housing. They took my free bus pass of me when I passed the driving test.
I know, I’m in the same boat. I could easily drive if they let me. Not fair really

It’s down to the discretion of the doctor signing the form
I lost my license for a long time
But I kept reapplying until they said yes
Back then it was denied due to agitation
Eventually I got it back
Was at risk again about a year ago but I sent an email with the no claims bonus years that I had and they could not argue against me being a safe driver
Seems like it’s a real lottery!
Basically the agreement from the doctor is only drive on days when I feel well and stop when I don’t

Once I got booked for dangerous driving, singnal jump and stunts on road. All at the same time.
Yes it’s my mistake I tried to race but I did not think it would turn out to be like this outcome.
The road was not well completed and it threw me off the bike.
And my head was on the head light and my legs in the air only my hands was on the handle. Plus my pillion seat just flew off which had all the documents.
I was caught only due to my pillion seat as the cops got hold of the seat and next day I had to report to the police station and paid the fine. After that is know how to talk to the cops never ever get angry with cops .
