Do they still sell fly swatters?

It’s a gross. Something hanging on your wall with mashed flies stuck to it and blood and guts. Sick.
And a blood bath all over your kitchen floor.

Yes, we have one. Better than the old fly strips where you had all the dead ones hanging in your face. I grew up poor, and in the summer we had to keep the windows open because we didn’t have air conditioning, so we would get infested with flies. Between the heat and the flies it was impossible to sleep. They’d be crawling all over your face. It was awful.

They still sell them.

A powerful Shop-Vac would work.

when I see a fly on the floor, I tiptoe and lift a big heavy book to drop on it

like those cartoons.

They have electrified ones, they look like tennis rackets with metal strings. So you can swat the flies before they land and it zaps them. Also it’s cleaner because they don’t get squished.

Actually I use it on mosquitos. We don’t get many flies.

I am sure they probably do still have fly swatters. No doubt. The old fly strips really are gross. Not to change the subject but what is GROSS, is turning on the light in the kitchen and seeing roaches scatter. Try living in public housing like I did when I was 11. It’s a memory I will never forget and the roaches are a part of it.
