It worries me a lot that many people with the illness are out of work. I can understand why. But it still worries me. Because I feel like I can’t take on work.
I don’t really want to live without work. For me, that’s all there is to life. To consume. And you can only consume when you have income. I know it sounds materialistic but I am.
it amazes me too to learn that most ppl with MI are without work.

Consume or not i think we all should have jobs at least to kill the time on our hands.
If u think u can work then go for it.
Yeah, I feel like there should be more investment into recovery and cures. But because of consumer mentality, it is shoved aside because the numbers are small compared to non stigmatised illness

Yep, we are consumers, i am neither working in production or service. Its difficult doing nothing, but spending money to cope. I am $1500 short for necessities like a mattress,clothes, spectacles. I need money for entertainment.

They are plenty of jobs but i can’t work, i am mentally disabled and take medication which makes me more disabled.

I am in Australia and we have a different tax and law system, so i am taking my social security and free medical support for granted.
