I agree im not nearly as creative on ap’s. my mind is simple now, whereas before I could piece together bits and pieces of my racing thoughts or messages I was receiving, to form an interesting narrative about life.

It’s up for debate. On one hand you need a healthy mind to create stuff. On another hand if you’re too restricted and hindered it will block inspiration.
10 mg abilify is where I’m most creative.
But before I was on meds I was probably very inspired, but a lot of the stuff didn’t make sense or anything

I felt like they hampered my creativity at first.
But then I realised the things I’d produced before I got off drugs and onto AP’s, they were not as good a quality as they are now. Sure, I wrote more poems and made more painting, but the quality was lower and they were less thought through.

I honestly don’t know. My negative symptoms limit my creativity. I don’t know if the meds do, too.

Yea its a hard one.
Im still not too sure if my creativity is better of meds or on them.
I suppose i dont have a choice to go off them anyways, so might aswell learn to be creative on them lol.

I dont remember too much about my mindset before APs. I think I’m more creative now
They block mine. It makes me sad sometimes.
Before APs and ADs I was creative and came up with stories to write easily. Now my novel’s sequel is stalled. Can’t get in the zone anymore.
I feel I am more critical so my output is reduced. Also I have feelings that it is more important to spend my time doing other stuff. The world is not going to run out of would-be musicians/artists.
Thats a weird way to look at it but yea, just your opinion !
Being creative (when it happens) makes me happier than anything else though.

With drawing attention span/ focus is more of a challenge than ever before to not just lose patience with the finer parts etc
