A brief encounter with a psychic

One night in October

Once, right before peak psychosis, I got lost in a city about 40 miles away from home. I was out of gas, out of cash, out of phone battery, and just plain out of it. To top it all off, it was a crisp New England night in mid-October and raining pretty heavily. I first walked into a Dunkin’ Donuts to try and use their phone to call my mom, but it was for store-use only.
