Disorganised schizophrenia (hebephrenic) with previous psz and sza diagnosis - can Schizophrenia switch subtypes?

I wonder if my paranoid sz turned into a slightly more disorganised type in my most recent episodes

I don’t know how much there is movement of diagnosis because of changing symptoms

but my symptoms were completely different in my latest hospitalisations

anyone know if there is movement within i.e. catatonic sz paranoid sz subtypes etc??

such as the below things:

In particularly severe cases, the person’s words may be complete nonsense, sometimes referred to as “word salad”.

Hebephrenic schizophrenics often experience something known as “thought blocking”. They may stop suddenly while talking, as if the thought abruptly left them.

their behavior may be grossly inappropriate, such as acting out sexually in public.

At times, s/he may have an emotional response which is completely irrelevant to the context, such as laughing or giggling suddenly, when nothing funny has occurred.

Just found this:

5 Schizophrenia Subtypes
There are five subtypes of schizophrenia based on the predominant symptoms that a patient is experiencing when evaluated by a mental health professional. A patient’s subtype can change throughout the course of the illness.

I think whatever the subtype they would treat it with the same meds

compared with paranoid schizophrenia
"The defining feature of the paranoid subtype is the presence of auditory hallucinations or prominent delusional thoughts about persecution or conspiracy."

This is how it was in earlier episodes - not present since turning 30

i felt like every time i had psychosis i was going back to the same story in my teens and twenties

“Typically, the hallucinations and delusions revolve around some characteristic theme, and this theme often remains fairly consistent over time”

I should really talk to my doc about this - it is more obvious the more i read about it

anyone relate to this?

The subtypes were removed in the DSM 5 (the new DSM) because they didn’t contribute much and weren’t stable and reliable categories. I.e. it’s not uncommon that your subtype changes, but it doesn’t really matter anyway.

My mother progressively became more hebephrenic, not that she is not paranoid anymore, but that her thought disorders became very strong.

I changed from being diagnosed with paranoïd sz to a more catatonic psychotic state to nothing psychotic af all at the moment (which I am praying will last!). But I first had only paranoïd traits, which changed to fullblown paranoid delusions, which changed to being completely catatonic and mute in my psychosis (but still completely delusional inside, with the same theme, i just expressed it differently), which changed to no psychosis for now. I guess it can change, Yes.
