Does anyone here watch it? It was one of my favorite books, and now it’s one of my favorite TV shows! I love their interpretation of the character! And they really captured the random-not-actually-random nature of the universe within the series. And season two is just fantastic.

It’s on BBC America. I don’t have TV, so I just buy the series off Amazon video. It’s also available on iTunes and probably other streaming services. Season 1 is on Hulu currently.

And @kindness, something I know you’ll enjoy. A few of the characters are LGBT, but their plot lines have nothing to do with their sexualities. They’re just whole people who happen to be on the rainbow.

Remember reading it when it came out. Loved the hitch hikers. That old BBC series was just so stupidly good. It was based on the original radio series which then influenced the books. I’ll check it out when it comes to my neck of the woods! I remember it was like hitch hikers…funny but restrained in that english way. It was good from memory!
@rogueone I think season one is on Netflix in Australia. You will get season two all at once when it is finished airing here, I think.
I was just thinking I need to go buy a book… Maybe I will buy this book and then watch the series if I like it
Wait, I’ve never read hitchhikers guide to the universe, should I read that first before I think about reading this?
They’re separate series. There is sort of a crossover book, but if was only partially written when douglas Adams died. They released that part of it, but no. It’s not necessary to read hitchhiker’s first.
The two books are dirk gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and The Long, Dark Teatime of the Soul.
I watched the first couple minutes of episode 1 forever ago. Always meant to go back to it but never did. I really should.
