We’re having burnt ends, pasta salad and garlic dinosaur kale from our community garden.
I’m excited to eat stuff I’ve seen grow.

my wife doesn’t care for gumbo but I still make it in a rare occasion…one trick Iearned about making roux is to do it on medium heat and let it darken rather quickly stirring furiously and then right before it is getting too dark I remove it from the heat and stir in celery, onion, and green peper chopped into the roux and it cools really fast and it gives off the most desirable aroma…do you do that @anon4362788 ?

I saute the trinity in the liquid remaining after I cook the sausage and chicken. Then pour that in with the meat, i make the roux in the same pan over a medium heat.

I made some zucchini potato casserole! It’s got zucchini, yellow squash, russet potato, red bell pepper, red onion, fresh garlic, and GF bread crumbs on top. Plus dairy free “cheese” on my side and real cheese on Hubby’s side.
I just had my midnight snack of watermelon and a hot chocolate.
No more hot chocolate for me though. (hopefully)
I had a bowl of Cheerios and an apple… didn’t feel like cooking cuz I had a big lunch.
Bangers and mash with creamed corn.
Payday so ate out. Had a burrito bowl and it was good. So tonight it’s some rice with some protein. Something very simple but wholesome.
I am eating leftover meat turds (my dad calls it Kafta in Arabic)as I call them with egg noodles and grilled potatoes and carrots and zucchini.
