Sorry to hear that I hope you have found a good one for you

I should add I’m weaning off my antipsychotic under the approval and supervision of a psychiatric doctor, and my diagnosis was psychotic episodes, not schizophrenia.

as far as personal effects go, when i took abilify, I gained lots of weight. like 80 pounds. I’m taking rexulti and I’ve lost 15 pounds already. also, abilify never did much for my motivation or depression. rexulti is doing great so far

Ability is similar to Vraylar. I like Vraylar better.

I was happily on abilify for about 6 or 7 years, then went off it because we thought I was better after almost 2 years of no symptoms. Immediately (within the month) went completely psychotic and couldn’t take abilify again. I’ve tried 3 times in the last 5 years to go back on it and it’s been bad news every time. I haven’t been able to take any atypicals die to side effects and then not really doing anything. I’m on haldol now and love it. It’s not great as far as side effects, but so far they’re mostly worth it.

Abilify has helped me in small doses. All the other antipsychotics I’ve tried can go to hell.

Honestly, depends on dosage
