Did you have toys growing up?

In my experience some kids had virtual toy stores at home and some kids had none. I was one with hardly a few all my years. What about you?

I had lots of toys. I was into He-Man and Transformers and TMNT back in the 1980’s.

Then I got a commodore 64 and Nintendo and spent a lot of time playing video games.

I had toys sure. I used to be a 12 year old playing with these toys called Mech Warriors. Too fun.

As a teen it was exclusively video games.

I had lots of toys. Dolls galore. Barbies. Slinky’s. Silly Putty. Etch a Sketch. Newborn Tumbelina dolls. Hula hoops. Pogo sticks. Bikes. Candy Land and Operation board games. Tons of fun.

My family wasn’t poor. We were middle class.

Up until my teen years I’d get something nice for Christmas and then it would be gone in a few weeks. My mom would sell it for $$$ for booze/smokes/weed. I learned not to get attached to my toys, and it’s probably why I tend to overspend on nice toys as an adult. Also likely the reason that I bought my own kid too many toys, which I’m not ever apologizing for.

I had instruments, a jungle gym and a pool, but very few toys. My dad built them himself

I had lots of toys growing up. Similar story as @Headspark . Must be about the same age…same toys.

Also likely the reason my mom bought us any toy we could ever dream of. We had bins full in our bedrooms, more bins in the living room, even more in the garage.

I had enough. When I was a little kid, I could be perfectly happy spending hours alone in my room just playing with blocks, my plastic army men, Lincoln logs and Lego’s. And as I grew I had some really neat toys.

Not a lot, but enough.

I was into Lego in a big way. I had a tricycle, then a bike. I went outside a lot and had my fun where I could. Later, in my mid teens we got a desktop computer and I was hooked.
