You would not have known this had you never have been there yourself but as you get older you tend to let things get by easier this makes you more vulnerable to disruptions things that normally take a simple task how are Grand major events it’s not easy when you get old Parts wear out less friends to help no family members to help so why wouldn’t you be depressed note to the younger people force yourself to be as socially active as you possibly can because they’ll come a day when it’ll disappear thank you for your time
That’s so true DrZen.
True for me.
I’m experiencing more cognitive issues and depression as I’m aging.
Sad news, but not surprising. I will fight my tendency to depression using every tool i have. Especially exercise, sunshine, and i will struggle against the feeling of emptiness, insisting to have a meaningful life as long as i can.
All research is not equal. We can’t extrapolate too much from negative research.
For instance, was the sample biased in that people who were doing well weren’t part of the research? How many samples took part in the research? How many years were people tracked? How was it determined who was depressed and who wasn’t? How does this tie up with a lot of people recovering from schizophrenia as they age? What biological mechanisms underpin these findings?
Only a scientist can extrapolate with some degree of confidence from such research. It is important what the scientific community thinks about the research, and where the current consensus lies as to aging and schizophrenia.
I wouldn’t pay much attention to it.
