Deepest snow I've ever seen in person is here!

Sooo I’ve only ever seen an inch or two of snow in person in my life… Until now! It’s getting close to 7 inches and it’s still snowing! I measured it! Here is pics of my measurements and my dog having fun in the snow (he loves it! Lol)

Thanks @LevelJ1 it started snowing during the night and so I had David stay home from work today and now I’m glad I did, it’s a 45 min drive to his work with several tall hills he’d have to go up and down and it’s still snowing… It’s suppose to get up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit tomorrow though so maybe the snow will melt but we’ll see

They’re calling for 12 to 18 inches here. I grew up down South and had only seen it deep like a foot or so a few times. Here in NY where I am, we see that much all the time. Took some getting used to.

@anon4362788 it’s kinda scary in a way if you ask me… I live in Arkansas so we honestly get ice more than we do snow and I think it rained before the snow so roads might be slick tomorrow… I’ve driven in a few ice storms but never thick snow :snowflake::cloud_with_snow:

My mom said it was raining earlier sigh meaning there is probably ice on the snow… Should have known I can’t get lucky and just get snow in Arkansas

Is that fluffy light snow or give yourself a heart attack heavy snow?

Important safety tip if it’s the latter take your time. Shoveling that is.

I loved the early morning walk,in the snow, to the bakery(my workplace), in our village (Germany). It was dark, only the streetlights were shining. The sound of the whole scenery was great. Don’t know, snow and sound. The cracking of my shoes in the snow.

@anon53623539 I am actually scared of the dark… I’m 28 gonna be 29 in April… Sigh I think it’s part of the PTSD stuff

One time when I was in the army in Germany there was this snowbank next to the back wall of the barraks. We were on the second floor, but they were pretty tall floors. It looked like a pretty good drop. This one guy jumped out of the window and landed in the snowbank. The snow broke his fall perfectly. So then all of us started jumping out the window into the snowbank. I was a little worried that the snow might become compacted, but it never seemed to.
