I used to want to get a dachshund. I was gonna call him Rupert Wilhelm Von Schnitzleburger. And yes, my current pets have a middle and last name too.
However, back on topic, I like the name Spud for a dog.

When I was a kid we named our beagle “Stay”.
We would take him to the park to run around and when it was time to go we would call him and say, "Come here, Stay, come here, Stay. come here, Stay "
Poor guy, ended up having a nervous breakdown.
