Cough Supressants

So I’ve gotten a little cough (nothing serious, just a tickle sometimes) so I’ve decided to get some cold and flu meds from the pharmacy (trying to tackle my sneezing as well).

I’ve got a question for those using cough suppressants on here, which one is better; dextromethorphan (DXM) or camphor ?

I’m going to have a short talk with the pharmacist just in case they interact with my meds.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Sending love.

DXM can interact with a lot of medications, camphor is the safer choice.
you can probably use Medscape Interactions checker for possible interactions, dxm is better for dry coughs.

Yeah, I keep reading that DXM interacts with APs and anti anxiety meds.

Ill talk to my pharmacist about Camphor.

Thanks @Putrefactio :v:

Sometimes one of the soothing cough medicines will help with a tickly cough.
As the previous reply mentioned, Dextromethorphan (and Codeine) are effective for dry coughs.
