Concerned about Vraylar side effects

Good luck on retrying vraylar wave. I’m the opposite of you in that matter, I need a very high dose for the pills to do effect and stiil I don’t feel much the side efects like anxiety and akathisia. Guess I’m a bit lucky on that aspect. I really think you are going to get used to it and get rid of the negative symptoms too. Good luck

I am hypersensitive to meds. If I were on Vraylar, I would take the capsule apart and take half the med each day.

What a journey this has been @Wave. I hope going back on Vraylar yields better results than last time.

It sounds like you have had some really scary moments recently.

Yes @anon84763962 but my pdoc is right, a lot of it is my own anxiety - the Benzos should make things easier

Thanks for the update @Wave … im also continuing vraylar. now with an increase and soon to lessen the zyprexa…

Question, do you take vraylar during the day or night?

it seems to be good in the afternoon to me but i didnt ask my doc… and hes away till monday

Its a bit activating for me, so I take it in the mornng.

Good luck with the increase @HuckFinn

I had rapid heart beat and shallow breathing, nausea and vomiting, dizziness and low blood pressure on Zyprexa 20 mg. I had to quit it at once. Rare side effects.

Hey @HuckFinn - Did you increase the Vraylar yet?
How are you tolerating the increase?

she took me off the vraylar and put me on serequel. AFter just 1 day, I feel better off the vraylar, but the serequel is like a sleeping pill, i haven’t liked that. but I do feel better after a short time off the vraylar.

the vraylar comes in free samples to me, the pharmacy threatened to charge me $600 for a months supply and wouldn’t order it in, it’s not covered by medicare part D.

I’m supposed to take 1.5mg vraylar and 1/2 a serequel pill at the same time.

Does medicaid or state programs cover it?

@Samp @HuckFinn @everhopeful

I am through taking Vraylar, it was just too stimulating for me - I dont know what I will go on next.

Honestly after this experience with Vraylar, I am afraid to try another new AP, I might go back on Risperdal, but at a low dose along side of low dose Depakote.

This is my 4th day without an Antipsychotic, and I cannot stand the withdrawals - noises are real loud, and things just seem strange to me.

She prefers that I remain on an Antipsychotic, so I will listen to her.

Thankfully I see her in 2 days

Did you take extra Cloneazapam with it? Did that not help?

wow ok. it seems everyone is different… im content with vraylar so far

I decided not to retry it - I had a real hard time with it especially towards the end.
I am ready to move on.
I honestly don’t think that taking Klonopin would help so much.
It was just way too stimulating for me, I couldn’t stop moving around - it was like taking speed.

Ah that’s a pity. I was hoping you’d have good luck with it. You could still try rexulti, you never know. It has a low metabolic impact. Give it a go for 2 weeks, see if it’s the same as abilify or not. Nothing to lose for a 2 week trial…

My doctor doesn’t like Rexulti for me.
Chemically it is very similar to Abillify and Abilify made me Hallucinate.
She did mention Saphris, but I am not willing to try it for various reasons

Paliperidone (Invega)
Iloperidone (Fanapt)
Asenapine (Saphris)
Lurasidone (Latuda)

These seem to be the other ‘newer’ APs if you’re looking for a newer one. It’s all Russian roulette.
