Concentration was getting better - is getting worse now. Any tips for improvement?

A month ago I could watch a tv program for about an hour. Now I can’t do 5 minutes.

Don’t dwell on it and it doesn’t have to become a thing.

Sometimes there really is nothing worth watching for the mood you are in.

A good test of your TV mood is to watch fail videos, and if they’re not having any effect you are not in the right mood for watching things.

Has there been a med change between these 2 points…?

Yeah I came off gabapentin and busparone.

Ahh…that’s why I use gabapinto it increases my attention span…you came off it for a reason but maybe there is an alternative med or supplement that can improve this for you…my last set of meds gave me similar problems…it makes it hard to get comfortable or distract yourself…plus most of the fun stuff I do requires more than 10 mins worth of focus…I feel your pain…

That’s exactly it. I can’t pass time easily cos I can’t concentrate on anything for long enough to let time fly by.

Netflix isn’t enjoyable anymore. Can’t play video games. This kinda sucks a little but.

Maybe you’re having some problem with anhedonia as well.

This bothers me too. I have no concentration or I feel triggered by things on the tv. I used to play WOW but that became too much. Concentration just feels like it’s continuing to get worse.

I just restarted wow but I think it is a waste of time if I can’t play more than 10 minutes. I just rented some films - bet I don’t watch them either.

This problem is a bitch…I hate being stuck in my head unable to escape to my favorite fantasy worlds…

I have also started a bad habit of phoning family all the time cos that is the only thing that passes the time. Is really annoying for them.

Sometimes I can’t concentrate to watch a full movie. Video games when I play is just for 30 mins. I thought it was a problem with anhedonia, but maybe there is the concentration problem as well.

Even having these problems, I try to watch movies or series. I don’t know if it’s a thing we can solve with meds. The only solution for me is trying to do things.

Now I’m curious about gabapentin. I haven’t found any studies that says it increases concentration. Does it do?

You could watch youtube. Most things on there are 5-10 minutes. Until the situation gets better.

I text my family constantly complaining to them about my symptoms looking for them to give me a magic answer to fix it. Really it just makes me feel better to reach out to them. I’m sure they get sick of hearing the same ■■■■ from me all the time.

I took it for anxiety. But if flame takes it for concentration maybe it is a thing? You do feel good on it.

I wear blue glasses to improve my concentration. My speech therapist suggested it to me after my head injury. It helps a lot. If you wear prescription glasses, you can get blue ones for about $12 at www.zennioptical.com. If you wear regular ones, you can order them there or just find them at any place that sells sunglasses. It might not work for watching TV, though. I use it for reading.

You could also try increasing the blue tint on your computer screen.

What’s behind the color blue? How does it help?

I don’t think its made to improve concentration…but its not supposed to give you a buzz either and a few of my friends that are on it say they get a euphoric buzz…I didn’t think gaba could cross the blood brain barrier…it may just improve your mood enough you feel up to focusing on longer things…idk…

Hmm, interesting. I read it’s made for epilepsy. It’s new for me that this kind of med can be used for schizophrenia.
