so I have nothing to do but look for work. so first thing I did is shave my beard. well kind of, I took my hair clippers to it and just left it at that. there’s a little stubble but its super convenient and I don’t have to pay for razor blades. I wonder if in today’s world that this is good enough. as close to clean shaven as I’m going to get.

I do the same thing. I hate paying for new razors!!
Disposable razors are relatively cheap and one single plastic razor can be used for 5 or more shaves.
The most basic element to having a successful job interview is being well-groomed and dressed appropriately.
When you are applying for a job first impressions are invaluable. I read somewhere that an employer knows within the first 5 minutes whether he is going to hire you or not. Depending on the job, there can be lots of competition for a position. You don’t want to stick out negatively in a prospective employers mind when he’s trying to decide to hire. 90% of employers are going to look at a person applying for a position and if he’s not shaved they are going to look at the person and think something like, “If this guy doesn’t even care enough to shave, he must not think much about this job.”
If you’re going hunting for a job just look at a package of disposable razors as an investment.
@77nick77 you talked me into it. ill probably buy some razors and make it a close shave.
@Samp2 no pics. I’m waiting for the next selfie thread. I got a new Hawaiian shirt ive yet to wear.
I can’t wait!!!

Even if your future work requires no beard i would hope it doesn’t affect the job interview… none of my past job interviewers have mentioned it unless it was job required… maybe I’m being naive here idk…
it sounds like he’s saying he’s half-shaved @flameoftherhine. It’s kind of a trend with many people but even the people who deliberately do it for style kind of keep it under control. Unless the prospective employer makes it clear that beards are prohibited at the job @Lifer is applying for, a neatly trimmed, appropriate size beard should be OK in an interview. But NOT a beard cut with scissors and scaggly. But there are certain jobs in the world where wearing a beard to an interview with them would kind of hurt your chances.
