Stopping or starting Cloxapine should only be done in emergency situations. This means that Clozapine should only be initiated if the sz makes the individual a danger to other people or her/him self.
And Clozapine should only be stopped if the Clozapine is causing s serious danger to the individual’s health.
I once saw a treatment resistant patient who was only helped by Clozapine and they had to stop his treatment because of the Angrocitosis. After that he got institutionalised he was psychotic ever since and never reacted his baseline. Now he is often hospitalized and the double max dose of Olanzapine depot doesn’t work at all. It’s adviceble to only use Clozapine when nothing works as your mental state will deteriorate a lot after years of Clozapine usage.
