Clinical trial with Evenamide in Argentina

I spoke to a psychiatrist who works on clinical trials, he is a friend of my psychiatrist. He told me that there is one available with Evenamide but I told him I did not want to participate because he said that it is taken in addition to the antipsychotic prescribed by the doctor. It cannot be taken alone. I told him that I saw on the internet that they were testing it in trials as monotherapy but he told me that my psychiatrist has to authorize me. Maybe I can start taking Evenamide. I will keep you posted, wish me luck.

My psychiatrist will talk to his friend. I told him that I preferred to take Evenamide as monotherapy. If I take it in addition to the current antipsychotic, it makes no sense. I already can’t tolerate the old antipsychotic. Supplementing it with Evenamide will make it worse, at least that’s my impression.

Maybe being on evenamide will make the AP’s more tolerable or maybe you’ll be able to reduce your dose. I’ve heard first hand about the miracles that drug works in some people. Id give it a shot.

I agree with this tbh, why take different AP if one does the same thing… Can’t tell what the psychiatrist is thinking anyway

Evenamide works in a completely different way than any other AP. It doesn’t touch dopamine. Non of the typical downsides of APs should be there. Here’s a testimony from someone who’s been on it.

That’s why I would like to take it as monotherapy, I need the OK from my doctor.

Next week I see my psychiatrist’s friend in his office. He told me that there are two trials going on, one with Valbenazine and one with Evenamide. I doubt I can take Evenamide as monotherapy but maybe taking it in addition will make the antipsychotic more tolerable. I’ll keep you posted.

Are you still planning on importing karxt when it gets approved? From what I’ve heard it might be exactly what you’re looking for in terms of not making you feel horrible the way normal APs seem to. It’d be interesting to see if evenamide works as well on someone who’s on karxt.

My psychiatrist has already told me that he is aware of the medication and that he will give me an order to have it imported and that my health insurance will cover it. But I have to find a lawyer and go to court and file an appeal against my health insurance because they will surely refuse to cover the cost of the medication. The process to get the medication brought to me can take between 2 and 4 months. The judicial process lasts approximately 1 year.

I just got back from the psychiatrist friend of my doctor. He told me that he has trials with Valvenazine, Iclepertine, and Evenamide but he is not going to recommend any of them for me because he does not see the need for them.

I explained to him that I cannot tolerate current antipsychotics.

He told me that his medical center has ties with the United States, Japan, and other countries and that in a few months he will be doing a trial with KarXT, that is the only positive thing i took away from the meeting. Evenamide is not taken alone, he clarified.
