Christ, should I trust her?

I had a dental checkup October10th. I’ve been going to my dentist for 45 years. He doesn’t take Medicaid though so I found a dentist online who takes Medicaid (denti-cal). My regular dentist gave me the results of my last checkup and said I needed two crowns and a filling for $4100. So that’s why I went to this dentist today who takes Medicaid but she tells me I need two teeth pulled and a bone graft. No crowns, no fillings.

WTF? Who am I supposed to believe? I went from needing two crowns to needing two teeth pulled. I have an appointment this Thursday to get the teeth pulled but I’m highly skeptical and I think she may be wrong about pulling the teeth. I don’t know if I should trust her or not.

Can you get another opinion?

I made a dentist appointment today. I have at least one tooth that needs pulling. I will not be able to eat as easily once I get it done. It took twenty five years to get into the habit of brushing my teeth and flossing. I’m a little worried because of my gag reflex. I’m not scared of the pain.

Is what the second dentist recommended cheaper? If so, she probably wanted to get the work closer to your budget

I worked as a dental assistant a long time and have learned a lot.

Dentists are not doctors.

The diagnosis isn’t the same across the board,

If you’re on some sort of insurance that won’t get them a lot of money,

They want to pull everything.

If they think they can squeeze money out of you,

They go for crowns, implants and such.

It’s a real sketch industry.

I can’t tell you who to trust,

I would just go with the plan that works best for you.
