Choose recovery. Choose taking your meds. Choose getting out of bed. Choose not chain smoking in your underwear. Choose calling your friends. Choose eating something. Choose watching something you enjoy to cheer you up,no matter how silly or childish. Choose checking in with your feelings. Choose activity when you’re feeling up to it. Choose rest when you’re not. Choose clothes that make you feel good. Choose perfume or cologne. Choose to stay away from street drugs. Choose making appointments with your pdoc. Choose doing what your pdoc says, even if it’s tough. Choose doing what makes you feel good. Choose recovery, choose life.

Thanks mdear! It’s not to say we’re always capable of making these choices, but it’s worth trying.

Very well said! I talked to a friend and am now going to have a quiet night with a hot shower, face mask time, meditation, watch an episode of a tv show, etc.
