Essentially, if people don’t go in to see a doctor, the doctor gets no money and therefore can’t thrive. So his goal is to keep us coming back. They do drag their feet about a lot of ills. I think pdocs are some of the worst.
Yeah capitalism has it’s shortcomings especially with the cost of delivery but it also has done some good things. I’m not totally against competition but we need better, more effective healthcare for sure. You shouldn’t be deprived of care simply for lack of money because as a society there’s wealth enough for everyone.
Hey @PinCushion . I hope that you are doing well. Just thought I’d comment on your thoughts.
I see your logic in the :
statement. And I can see where you might draw that conclusion. But I don’t think that is really a factor in our country and many other countries. There is a shortage of doctors, including pdocs in our country. There are plenty of sick people without creating illness. The demand outweighs the supply.
You can get quite a bit of health care through medicaid and medicare, but I think if you don’t have the right insurance they won’t give health care for some conditions, like cancer. I think that after a certain point with cancer you just get palliative care. That’s all I would expect if I had cancer, but I don’t know how I would feel if I had a kid who had cancer. With me the question is moot because I have no kids.
