This is good news that they can survive in their natural habitat, but they don’t have a lot of natural habitat left.
Just in my lifetime 904 species have become extinct. Human activities are the primary cause, such as habitat destruction, exploiting of resources, pollution and climate change.
We’re deforesting the Amazon rain forest, burning holes in the ozone layer, among other destructive behavior. And people wonder why skin cancer is higher than ever.
In Florida, all of the big insurance companies have left. Homeowners insurance is doubling year-over-year. Hurricanes are stronger and more frequent.
Joni Mitchell was right: they paved paradise and put up a parking lot.
