Can i make money by playing video games?

becouse making websites or programming is tooo hard. i cannot read that much and learn :frowning:

eSports is big money now but it’s pretty competitive. I’d say making websites and programming would be a safer bet

but if i stream video games ? i know esports is too hard its impossible

I guess if you made a youtube channel you could give it a go and see if you can get enough subscribers.

Don’t they get the advert money?

Well it’s worth a go! You never know what may come of it unless you try.

To much competition you have to be entertaining if you want more then 5 people watching. It’s more about entertaining people then playing games. I’ve thought about doing it myself but I’m 43 and younger people aren’t gonna want to watch me play games. If you ever decide to do it don’t let people into your personal life. They will always be people that don’t like you and try to troll you for reactions.

im not trying to discourage you or anything, but think twice before you make the decision. If you are no-name without esport background or godlike skills you just can’t get the audience. Just go on twitch and browse any game and look how long you have to scroll to find new streamers. I see 3 ways of going pro at gaming:
-skills in given game - going viral fast
-great personality, charming, good looking
-esport background

GL HF anyway

You could review videogames and talk about them. Clink of @lazygamereviews seems to be making a living doing that.

Shitty websites are not hard to make. Gotta start somewhere. I did it. Try wordpress templates or something. Then as you get better, and better, you’ll get good. Doing things from scratch is hard (I can’t do it) and isn’t really needed nowadays. Good, high traffic websites are hard to do and take time but is infinitely better and easier than making it as a streamer or playing video games.

I think you have to be talented, know people, and being a hot female definitely helps.

Whatever you do, try to look professional and don’t mention schizophrenia. I think Google censors schizophrenics for number of reasons. You won’t get any money that way. Unless you make a joke or theme out of it somehow lol.

I want to do computer science, but not everyone can do it. You gotta take calculus and physics and stuff. The programming can be hard too from what I remember. Depends on the teachers, the school, and how you’re feeling and your knowledge base/experience. I want to do it some day. They have IT or computer systems majors or even other ■■■■ where you can learn programming. I recommend starting off on codecademy, community college (local), or other online resources.

codecademy, edx, coursera, freecodecamp, etc. are helpful. I think codecademy is the easiest. I recommend python to start off. Maybe something else like linux commands or git. Stuff like C or C++ is harder. I tried Harvard’s cs50 course and had to stop due to cognitive issues. I guess it’s pretty narly for most. The projects are tough. A lot harder than MIT imo.

My x boyfriend is a gamer and subscribes to gamers and even paid one once I think.

These guys play computer games and stream (film themself doing so).
They also chat with followers and answer questions.

One of the guys even got drunk while doing so and was swearing non stop.

My x boyfriend played escape from … (can’t remember the name)

It’s a pretty new game.

These guys he learnt from and follows make enough money to do it for a living.

So they get paid to play computer games and chat.

It might not be reliable income unless you have some regulars.

My x boyfriend made new friends playing this game.
I bought it for him for Xmas.

It can be done if you get enough subscribers/followers who pay to watch you and chat to you.

Probably not but my first job after college was managing a video arcade. When it was slow I also played games. But I also had to fix them, upgrade them and count all the quarters.

The maintenance on pinball machines was intensive. I had two part timers who worked for me both on SSDI. When I left neither of them wanted the manager job. Didn’t want to lose their disability.

Perhaps you could do that or something similar.
