Cameras in the house

I’m at my sister’s house watching her dog. She has a house completely rigged with all of the Alexa and echo stuff. There’s all sorts of camera and voice activation and it freaks me out. I would NEVER put that stuff in my house.

Anyone else freaked out by this?

I don’t fear real cameras, visible in a room.
I fear invisible cameras watching all day.

It used to when I first became conscious of it, but now I’m quite used to them, I have the Google speakers in two rooms. I’m over it, it’s been long enough shrugs

Have you tried to get used to living in the “spotlight”? It worked for me at the time, but I’m over that part of illness now.

Dude I would never get an Alexa or similar product. It’s just a gimmick to me. I type over 200 cwpm, I can type nearly as fast as I can speak, so I don’t see the need for anything but my laptop or phone.

yeah. camera surveillance nation.

it’s part of my services, if you’re worried or wondering
what your dogs are doing all day while you’re at work,

I’ll come over 3 or 4 times, make sure everything is okay.

The men have cameras in my house to watch me. I would never add even more cameras.

Yes, I’m used to it now.
These days I have no symptoms.

wish it were that easy. too many things have happened.

and by the way, I believe in ghosts too, something that most don’t think is quite as crazy.

Ha! That’s funny.

I have 2 Google Home Mini’s in my house. One in the basement and one in my bedroom. They are handy.

I trust Google more than I trust Amazon when it comes to privacy, but I don’t really trust either of them to be honest.

At this point all these smart devices have probably collected incriminating data about most of us, like your smart phone GPS knowing you drove above the speed limit . I just hope they don’t use all this information to turn our society into a techotyranny.

Mine were “real”. I thought someone had implanted them in my house.

Wow!!! That’s cool that it doesn’t bother you. I wish I could tolerate it for the convenience. In theory, it’s a great thing…

Mine are tiny. They are everywhere, in my eyes
too, as a POV angle.
I shouldn’t talk about it cos i fear it may return

I remember that feeling. I’m sorry you are still experiencing it.

It terrifies me.

Eh, it’s ok. Nothing that great. The only cool things is I sent my daughter one so we can video call and also control my lights with voice.

I just imagine it would be cool to have something like Jarvis from Iron Man in my house.
