Buspirone. Anybody else?

Anybody else take Buspirone for anxiety? Any side effects? Did it help/does it help?

i take it. it might help a little but it’s subtle if it does. i mostly notice no effect. but that’s the way it seems to work with me and my anxiety meds.

I started buspirone a couple months ago and I love it! It helps me a lot. It’s my first anti anxiety med experience. I couldn’t believe how much more normal I felt!! I had no idea just how tense I had been. I felt like I could breathe easy again. Best choice I’ve made in years!!! ( I will say from a friend’s experience, some anti anxiety meds aren’t strong enough for others. I take 3 buisperone a day, one in the morning and 2 at bedtime. ( It takes a lot to get me to sleep). I hope you find what works for you!! Best of luck and wishes!)

I tried it and it disn’t work for me. My doctor said she sometimes prescribes it to help with sexual dysfunction. So if you have that right now, it might go away soon.

I take it for OCD, and I honestly can’t tell too much of a difference in symptom management, but it still might be the right medicine for you.

What was your diagnosis and how did it affect your libido?

It is meant to treat only GAD, not OCD nor SAD.

Typically, we like to leave inactive threads alone and just start a new thread instead. This is different than how some forums are run, but we do it this way because it frequently upsets users to have old topics revived when they are no longer relevant. It can also be frustrating to the person who revived the thread when they don’t get a reply, because the original poster is no longer active or no longer finds the topic relevant. Feel free to start a new thread on this topic.
