I’m getting a lot of pin prick zappy feelings in the left side of my brain…sort of near the front and centre, but a bit to the left of the left hemisphere. The zap-pricks happen a few times in a row and then stop.
Does this happen to other schizophrenia sufferers? Can it be dangerous? I had a few during the night, between sleeps, and it’s happening a lot this morning, and I don’t know if it’s just from the stress of having my groceries delivered, and letting the delivery guy come up to my door, after he called me using the ring number… I feel very fragile sometimes.
My pdoc is supposed to make another appointment with me this month, but there’s a pdoc shortage and I have no idea when he’ll call. I’ll try to relax. I think it’s stress related. The intensity of the sensation is alarming. I just hope I don’t have some kind of stroke…
I experienced similar while I was at the height of my psychosis, it would completely distract me from what I was saying. They were very uncomfortable and followed by a flash of light that I called phosphenes for lack of a better term at the hospital.
Oh. I think my condition is well managed for the most part. Frequently, I see motes of light or dark, and it’s not related to blood pressure (since I measured mine and I’m fine).
Maybe ask a doctor if your pdoc can see you soon enough? I had those for about a years straight … Always at bed time. They went away when I switched my meds
Try to relax, anxiety will just make it worse, ive had brain zapps before and it went away on it’s own. If you think you might have a stroke then get to the ER.
