Attention DIYers I need advice

I bought this adorable little footstool at an estate sale but the color doesn’t quite match my decor. I’m wanting to recover it somehow. How would you go about it? @Loke

That’s a toughy, because you’ve got some sort of pleating there.

You could just cover it, but it wouldn’t look as good.

Honestly, it’s really cute as is and getting a similar look without a professional is going to be hard.

But it can be done,

It’ll take time though, and some skill.

I have a little experience refurbishing furniture and I wouldn’t mess with that one.

Mostly because of the pleating.

So true.

When it doubt,

Spray paint.

hey, what do you think about leaving it as is but just doing a simple slip cover?

That would work.

I’d still be cute, and washable.

Probably the only practical thing to do.

Unless you want to spend a lot of time and frustration on it.

I’d cover it.

Do you think this would be nice?

I don’t have a sewing machine

Do you have a friend with a sewing machine?

Or can you rent/check out one?

Sometimes libraries have them.

Or at least my sister told me that.

If not, you could do it by hand, but it won’t be the easiest with that material.

Still, not impossible.

I’d get a pattern for a round ottoman cover too, not try to free hand it.

I actually know one lady who might sew it for me, it would take 5 minutes, i just have to get some pins and get it the way I want it. That would me the hard part I think. Blah. Maybe the color isn’t so bad lol

oh that would be cute, a little shorter, and yes

Talk to that lady, fo sho.

Knowing a talented seamstress is so valuable.

My sister is mine, it comes in handy.

Those covers are available on Wayfair, but I don’t know if they make shorter ones.

I’ll check out wayfair, thanks. But I just realized I can take a circle of fabric, a length of colored twine (which I have) and just tie it on and it would be fine

what did you find those under at wayfair?

@Leaf ive never worked with upholstery in my life so I have no idea. It’s cute though. I think you’d need a staple gun to reupholster something. I’m really not the person to ask. Sorry
