Did ma eagle
You are very good LevelJ1, its very realistic,
@nimeton Sophie my art group tutor has a manual print making machine & the way she talks is that it can be tricky to get the prints perfect, maybe she just has a crappy print press Idk.
Thanks , i just got into drawing in the last year. Never really had any interest in it but now i find it to be fun and relaxing
Thats great, i think its great seeing as you just got into it, i jusst got into it as well, i bet half the people on the forum have a hidden tallent the dont know about yet
Yeah i think so too. We never know until we try
That looks neat ! @LevelJ1
Wow! Thats impressive! Especially for a beginner!
Thanks i basically started with the beak and just built the bird
. I kinda just go for it and see what happens
I used a picture for reference. I think i could do it from scratch sometime but itd be tricky
Most artists use references. It looks great.
Wow that’s absolutely amazing
Making prints can be tricky, the pressure of the press might be off or the paper too dry or something like that. I love printmaking because you never know what you are going to get… When the metal plate and paper go to press you just can’t know will it look good or not. That’s why I find it so fascinating. It’s almost like magic!
Thank you! I love this technique of printmaking, the result is unique, when in other techiques of printmaking you can make 100 copies of your design (that do look slightly different though) but with chine collee the result is completely unique.
Very cool! I’m so uncultured lmao I thought you meant “chinese coffee” at first like it was a paper staining technique or something. Great work
hope to see more
I would love to try some printmaking at some point, just to give it a go
I feel like it could be used for scrapbooking or something
Oh If you ever have a change to try printmaking I highly recommend!
My fav printmaking is etching, you can do it on a copper plate (you need to let the copper sit in acid for some time) or on thin clear plastic plate (much easier, no acid baths needed). Also woodcut is nice.
You can do some printmaking at home too, woodcut is a piece of plywood you carve on and then put on dye and press it on paper. Etching and many other techiques you need to have a press. Here some art associations let you use their press for some small amount of money.
I love printmaking, I usually paint things but printmaking is just cool. I am also very into experimental printmaking, where you can use paint for example on printed pictures.
Hehe, I am looking forward to experiment more with chine collee techique! I can try to find more of my printmaking pictures I’ve printed, and maybe upload some of them here
that’s pretty cool, i tried to dabble with digital art a long time ago, i think the site i used was sumopaint or something, i wonder if they’re still around.
Thanks.
there is an app on the pad called MI canvas which is handy.
Getting inspiration to draw is rare for me though…
